Hair

I’m working on the M inc cover right now. The painting is going to be pretty sick!

I was figuring out what type of hairstyle to use on the cover and I did this little study to practice long hair.
I liked the result so I thought I’d show some “behind the scenes” work and post this one here.
Thanks Lorena :)

Upcoming Album cover for Florida based M inc.

I’m glad to say that I’ve been asked to do the cover for the debut album of Florida based, ”M inc”

I’ve already sketched out the base for the cover and let me tell you, the sketch we have agreed on is pretty sick!

For those who are not familiar with the band, check ‘m out here: M inc

(“M”) INC. the new Orlando, Florida-based band featuring former Mantas/Death/Massacre guitarist Rick Rozz DeLillo was formed by Rick and drummer Mike Mazzonetto (Pain Principle) in August 2009. Rick and Mike soon teamed up with Tim Vazquez (Devolve, CGM Studios) and Chris Jack (Devolve)

DEBUT RELEASE: TASTE THE HATE scheduled Nov. 2011

New Roadburn gallery section

I’ve been asked to put more of my Roadburn designs online so I’ve  searched through the archives and made a selection.

There have been several harddisk crashes over the last couple of years (probably dure to extensive usage) so a lot of the older work is completely lost in cyberspace.  Since I prefer the recent work, in which I’ve started to include more and more artwork instead of just digital design, I don’t mind the loss of the old pieces that much really. Anyway, you’ll find all of it in the gallery section , divided in 2011, 2010 and the rest in misc. Enjoy!

Moving deadlines

Getting more known is great, and I really appreciate the gret work bands have me design, but I’m having difficulty catching up at the moment.

I will have to send some impopular mails out today.

One of the commissions I’m working on is a lot more timeconsuming and way more difficult than expected so I have to move all deadlines.
I will need at least a couple of weeks to finish these drawings in time before I can move on so deadlines before October/November will have to be moved. If I haven’t contacted you yet, then the difficult commission is your one :)

Acrostichon Comic!

It’s been a while since I did anything comic-wise so I’m excited to start on this little project.

I’ll be drawing a 3-page comic for the first Death Shriek comic.

Legacy of Death press release:

Here it is folks! Coming late this year a new HORROR Comic book called DEATH SHRIEK. This will feature 5 short horror comic stories, each based on a song by the following Death Metal bands: ROTTREVORE, DERKETA, GRAVE DESCENT, ACROSTICHON, HUBRIS. There will be guest artists, announced soon. This is fully indorsed by the bands involved.

So what’s up?

I haven’t been updating that much lately. Fortunately, the reason for that is positive. I have been busy producing new work.

At the moment I’m working on a couple of album covers, t-shirts and some commisioned portraits. I’ve been sketching a lot!

The first one I will paint will be the Acrostichon vinyl release on Badger records.
I can’t say too much on the content of this album as the exact contents aren’t decided on yet but I CAN tell you it’s going to be special. If everything will go as planned it will be a double album so I’ll be painting a gatefold sleeve for that one. It’s the first painting for a vinyl release I’ve done in a long time (last ones I did were digital designs) so it’s really special to me too.

I’ll keep you posted !

New gallery

I’ve added a new category in the gallery section.

Recently my main weapon of choice has been Watercolors and ink. In the past I did most of my work in acrylics and in a mix of acrylics with colored pencils. Most of my magazine illustrations were created in this combination technique. I’ve been asked by some people to expand my gallery section so here it is!

You’ll also find some updates in the other galleries. There’s more to come….

More Roadburn 2011 stuff revealed

Let’s start with one that in the end wasn’t used. I did this pencil drawing for a flyer for the Sabbath Assembly show. The band chose for a more minimalistic approach, so I filed this one away.

….and here’s one of the last images I did for the backdrops of the Roadburn show of Pentagram. Speed-Painted in record time 2 days before I did the show.

Damn, I was really reaching a state of panic by then and was working like a maniac trying to get stuff finished.
I used an early nineties photo for this one.
Special thanks to Jeff Lee of Pentagram Archives, who provided me with kick ass photo’s to use as source material for this show. He was a great help. Thanks brother!

Master & Autopsy!!!!!!!!!

Damn, did I have a great weekend!

Friday I caught the Master show on Neurotic Deathfest. They were great as ever.

Last night I went to see Autopsy. Brutal as hell! The’re still the heaviest band in the world.
